Upstory is a bespoke mobile UX design studio. Their tagline is, “We design beautiful, functional apps.”
The Challenge
Upstory needed a new 2-page website, and they needed it FAST. The designs were complete in Figma, but the new site needed to be live within just a few days for a big trade show.
I was able to provide a blazing-fast 7 day turnaround on these designs, and the new site was up and running in time for the conference!
Since Upstory is a UX firm, the timing of the loading animations was important to get right! We spent a few extra days after launch, tweaking and tuning to get the perfect experience.
Thanks to the Client-First code framework, I was able to quickly to develop the layouts in Webflow. Using a standardized naming convention means that the handoff is simple and intuitive for any future developers.
I also streamlined the maintenance process by splitting out certain design elements into specific classes. Simply apply a different combo class to get a different shadow effect! Any screenshot on the site can now be easily swapped out; because the corner radius and shadows are controlled by code - not built into the image.
Another essential piece of the experience was the ability to embed a live Calendly booking widget. I integrated a small Javascript script into a custom button to open a Calendly popup from anywhere on the site.
The Upstory landing page was a big success. The new site is modern and stylish, and it’s a much better representation of the Upstory brand.
Here’s what Rick had to say.
“Emmett is a great partner for Webflow development. Our team had Figma designs ready to go, and he did a great job of translating it into a beautiful site.
He was flexible, allowing us to get the site launched quickly to meet our fast deadline, and then continued to spend time refining it with us afterwards.
We’re quite particular about design at Upstory, but we got a great website at a great value with Emmett.”
